Mediclinic Hospital goes Live with InterSystems TrakCare healthcare system

Mediclinic Welcare Hospital, one of the UAE’s most established healthcare facilities dating back to 1998, has announced the implementation of InterSystems TrakCare® unified healthcare information system. The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system complies with Welcare’s strategy for joining the Dubai’s Healthcare Information Exchange program (NABIDH) which aims at enabling healthcare professionals to securely access patient medical records from all public and private healthcare facilities in Dubai.

As part of Mediclinic International, one of the world’s largest private healthcare groups, Mediclinic Welcare Hospital is proud of its long history, as it continues to look to the future. Having recently undergone significant expansion and adding capacity to its busy outpatient department, Mediclinic Welcare Hospital is renovating other hospital areas to provide new services and patient amenities.

The TrakCare latest Go-live at Mediclinic Welcare Hospital marks the 6th Hospital and 26th site to implement TrakCare within the Mediclinic Middle East Group.

Mediclinic Welcare Hospital’s healthcare providers will get a comprehensive view of each patient’s clinical, administrative, and financial information at any given time, thanks to TrakCare’s unified clinical and revenue cycle management capabilities. Mediclinic Middle East (MCME) is on track to implement TrakCare in all of its UAE hospitals and clinics by the end of the first quarter of 2022. The EMR system assists MCME clinicians in making decisions while providing more opportunities to provide patients with a better experience and a more seamless care journey by reducing waiting times and avoiding unnecessary tests.

Mediclinic Middle East operates seven hospitals in the UAE with over 900 inpatient beds and more than twenty clinics.

“At Mediclinic, we are committed to offering the most comprehensive and evidence-based patient care, delivered in a compassionate manner. Our technology transformation agenda enables us to achieve these objectives efficiently to exceed our patients’ expectations whilst at the same time establishing the digital foundation required to facilitate our growth across the continuum of care,” said Augustine Amusu, Chief Information Officer at Mediclinic Middle East. “The implementation of TrakCare at Mediclinic Welcare Hospital brings us closer to our digital transformation goals across the network.”

“Mediclinic Welcare Hospital, like all Mediclinic facilities, has a clear goal of providing excellent patient care with measurable clinical outcomes,” said said Ali Abi Raad, InterSystems Country Manager for the Middle East and India. “We are pleased to contribute to this important goal by deploying TrakCare at all Mediclinic facilities in the UAE which will enable the hospitals and clinics to deliver better healthcare service, enhance patient safety and overall health outcomes”.
